Our Board of Directors

As Chairman of Berico's Board of Directors, Filippelli provides guidance and direction to the leadership team, drawing on his long history of innovation and entrepreneurial expertise.

Filippelli has worked in the analysis sector since 2001 and has considerable experience with the design, implementation, and training of data processing and analytical production techniques in a distributed, web-based environment. He continues to support decision makers at national agencies, helping transform existing processes to better serve Berico’s clients.

Filippelli was one of four civilians awarded the National Intelligence Medallion in 2008 from the Director of National Intelligence. This is the highest award for civilians working within the intelligence community, and he was the youngest person to receive such recognition by at least a couple of decades. He is an Associate of the West Point Combating Terrorism Center. Filippelli was named a Next Generation National Security Leader at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS) in August 2009 and became a term fellow on the Council on Foreign Relations in July 2010.

Filippelli holds a B.S. in Economics with a concentration in Computer Science from the United States Military Academy at West Point, and received his B.A. and M.A. in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from Oxford University where he studied as a Marshall Scholar.

As a senior advisor to the leadership team, Hallam leverages his rich experience with the history of Berico to help guide the company’s growth while staying true to its core culture and values.

Hallam is an entrepreneurial leader and seasoned consultant experienced in building and leading mission-focused, multidisciplinary teams across the spectrum of government programs and private sector technology firms. Most recently, he was a commercial real estate consultant with D.C.’s premier tenant representation firm where he meshed clients’ business objectives with effective real estate plans to ensure prudent financial decisions for corporations, small- to mid-size companies, professional service firms, nonprofit organizations, and government contractors throughout the Greater Washington Metropolitan area.

Prior to founding Berico with Guy Filippelli, Hallam founded and directed an international consulting firm specializing in forging business alliances and delivering strategic advisory services within the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) market space. Additionally, Hallam was a project manager for a defense firm as well as the Senior Business Development Manager for a communication and collaboration IT startup where he was responsible for sales, market space growth, and business planning.

While in the military, he served in Germany and the Balkans as an artillery officer supporting the 1st Infantry Division.
